PADZss Please help

IS there a way to re calibrate the sensitivity of the pads - what does
one do if they think their XX7s Pads might not be sensing correctly - I
bought mine used - and I don't know if the person beat up the poor pads
mine or what but something seems odd because I have to hit the pads
really really hard for them to register ... can someone please help ...
