Hello again - Punch In

Hello again - Punch In

2005-12-02 by condescuento

Hi again,

wasnt there for some time, the power supply of my MP7 was broken and
it took some time to get it fixed, well...

Im back on track now and Im fooling around with my MP7 + PC. What id
like to know is: Is there a way to record with punch in/out over a
specific number of patterns. At this time I do it manually, but its a
little tricky if id like to rec a pattern with 1/16 or 1/32 notes.

Cheers

hi
if you are recording into the mp7 and it's not recieving any info
you could just hit realtime record and play the pattern or song(have
never used song mode yet) and add you sequnce data when the time
comes.

Yes.

You can either start it recording and simply not play anything till you want, or, you can simply hit record while playing to punch in (and out and in again, etc).

I see, there is no way do do that automatized. I´m using the realtime
record option a lot, but if there is a complex percussion or arp
pattern to rec, sometimes my fingars aren´t precise enough to get it
stopped exactly at the last midi information. But Aarons answer make
me think: I could clean/mute the patterns before and after the one
I´d like to record, so the midi information would be exactly what I
want.

Thanks
M

hi malik -
now when you say midi quantization - are you just referring to midi
clocking ? or what is it that you mean exactly ?

to slave or not to slave - that is the question

2005-12-06 by lifeistheformofenergy

Hi Arron - I have noticed that people in general have the similar
problems when using the XX - 7 as a slave due to possibly CC info
changing settings in the xx 7 - I guess to make it simple my question
is what is your solution to this - or should the xx 7 just not be used
as a slave ...

I use the MP7 as a Slave with Ableton as Master and I have a lot of fun
with it. I use Midi sequences from Ableton to MP7, I plugged the 2
Subouts via Aux Channels from my Hardware Mixer to 2 Audio Channels in
Live, and i reserve channel 16 to control the send fx inserted in Live.
;)
