Embedded SysEx Commands: Remote Control Open/Close

Embedded SysEx Commands: Remote Control Open/Close

I have created 2 small *.mid files which you can store in your E-Mu
sequencer using e-loader. RemoteControlON.mid opens a remote control
session. RemoteControlOFF.mid closes it.

If you want to know more, see the text file in the Files section.

just controller changes in step record

2006-08-07 by Paul Muon

Is there a way to enter controller changes in step record without
entering notes? I have tried changing a controller ( via one of the
knobs) while using play to enter a rest note, but the controller change
isn't recorded. Seems you have to actually enter a note. The only way
around this as I can see is to enter notes at a keyboard location that
isn't mapped for the active preset ( i.e it will not make any sound,
just for your sanity if you are entering 128 precision controller
changes for a bar!). You could use this non-sounding note to make
controller changes and then use the pattern:erase events: note function
to remove the note after step record has finished.

Maybe I am missing something?

I don't generally do step recording, but I just tested it to record
CCs [via knobs] and it works just fine. In step mode, when you twist
knob(s) and then press play, that CC(s) get recorded at the time
displayed before you press play.

To verify that CCs were recorded, look for them in the EVENT editor.
No need to exit step record mode to use the EVENT editor.

BTW, to test, put your 1st CCs at 001.01.001 [not 001.01.000].

Here's the steps I used:

1. In pattern view mode select an Empty Sequence.
2. Press Record 3x for step record mode.
3a. Set desired Res[olution] and Gate, if inserting notes.
3b. Set desired time for CC [knob settings] insertion.
4. Tweak knobs [ccs].
5. Press Play to advance the sequencer.
etc.

Is this what you are trying to do?

Correction to my previous reply: no need to press play: In step record
mode changing the time after tweaking knobs puts the CCs into the
pattern.

Thanks, worked as you described.
