Problem with E-loader

Problem with E-loader

2006-11-21 by _5ht

Hi,

I did a search and could not find the info so I am asking. I have a PX-
7 with OS2 and the disc that came with it that has E-loader 1.1. I
installed E-loader but when I connect the PX7 (turned on) to my
computer (running XP SP2) it won't recognize it. I followed
instructions to installing the usb drivers but windows simply says that
the driver that is currently installed is newer than the one I want to
install and I do not have an option of installing the Emu USB driver.

Is there something I am missing? None of my patterns in the PX-7 show
up because it seems E-loader does not see the PX-7. I do not have any
midi interfaces connected to this computer.

The problem is on the EMU USB drivers. You have to install them with the new hardware installer from Windows.

Device ID must be the same on the PC and the EMU

I spent a long time trying to connect them, but at the end, I did it, focusing on the EMU USB driver.

If you have a PC with Windows XP, installing the E-Mu USB drivers can
be impossible. Some people have reported success. Others, myself
included, have had no success. Somewhere in the archives you should be
able to find a post that recommends a little program that is supposed
to clear up this problem. I never tried it and cannot tell you if it
works or not. I seem to recall the post was less than 2 years ago, but
greater than 8 months ago. You might want to search the archives.

yeah i have one notebook with xp installed that takes the emu drivers
imediately. but my desktop doesnt. might actualy be the USB hardware
in the machines(PC). so i'm gonna try to plug my MP-7 into my hub and
see what happens on the desktop...

worth a shot...

Hello,
I just bought a px-7 recently, it was second hand and didn't come
with a disc. I'm having the same problems with Eloader and my
computer not recognising the px-7. Does anyone know where I can get
my hands on the drivers I need to connect it up to my laptop?
I tried the Emu site but couldn't see anywhere to download drivers.
Thanks.

Howdy,

It's there on the EMU site but you have to know where to look :-)

Here's the link to all the ol' stuff.

hiya folks!

if i remember, i had trouble with the e-loader as well. it seems to be pretty hit or miss with usb 2.0. i hooked up an old usb 1.0 hub and it works flawlessly connected to that. thats what worked for me. YMMV..... :)
