using xx-7 as a multimbral sound module

using xx-7 as a multimbral sound module

2007-06-09 by unwins4

Hello all,

I have a midi keyboard connected to my computer via usb and my xx-7
connected to the midi in and out of my usb interface, my problem is I
cannot play anything other than the preset on track 1, my keyboard
only transmits on chan1 but I change the channel of the usb interface
and all i get is no sound or it just plays track1 preset. Any ideas?

Hello,

Try select omni channel receive in midi mode or in global mode i don't remember exacty, may it will work. After select the track you want to play and perhaps your keyboard will transmit the notes on this channel, may be. In this mode any enter midi play the channel enable in preset edit view.

Hope that will work for you because the fact that your keyboard play only on channel 1 is probably the cause of this disfonctionnement.

An other solution for you is to assign the preset you want to play on channel 1 then record it and copy the record on the channel you want but it's not a solution for playing live.

The third solution is to direct the channel via your computer but in this case please retry you question to a person more qualified with the pc, i'm a newbie with software solution.

  Hope that help.

if you have FLStudio you can just use the keyboard to control a midi
out generator and use the menu on the generator to change the
channles and send only the generators output to your xx7

I think you would need to have more tracks enabled in your pattern to
get to all 16 tracks. What is your main controller and what is the
host software that your using?

Make sure to turn OFF "rechannelize input to track destination" in the middle of the MIDI menu.
