the penultimate data wheel question

the penultimate data wheel question

2007-08-02 by hymen_blaster

I've had my XL-7 for a few months and I love it. When I got it, the
data wheel had the same problems as I've heard a couple of other
people reporting. I've mostly dealt with it but now that I'm using it
a lot more, this problem is REALLY slowing me down.

I've already taken off the case and sprayed contact cleaner at the
points indicated in another message somewhere, to no avail.

Is there anything else I can do, or is there someone that can fix it?

I replaced mine several years ago(on an MP7) took the wheel from another emu module...any from the proteus era work(planet earth etc)...It was not really all that hard, being really carefull with not losing parts...required no soldering, just screwdriver and cable connector(s) removal....and has worked perfectly ever since....
