e-loader for unix/linux? alternatives?

e-loader for unix/linux? alternatives?

2008-06-07 by Atom Smasher

does anyone know a way to get a linux or bsd machine talking to an XL7 via
USB? or any other way to backup data to/from the XL7 without using a
proprietary operating system?

i really wish the XL7 had a way to represent itself to a host computer as
a generic "box of files", and just have a bunch of "folders" filled with
"files" that i could copy back and forth. that would accomplish my backup
needs without anything too fancy.

my digital camera has an option to present itself to the host computer as
either a camera or "just" a pile of pictures (like a flash drive), which
is perfect.

thanks...

The question is, how can one live without a single PC (or Mac) ?

================

i've been free from the scourge of M$ for almost 10 years.

it's kinda like telling people how long i've been veg*n, and some people
ask if i crave a hamburger.... not only do i not crave a hamburger, but i
feel so much better without it than i ever did with it. same thing with
closed-source operating systems.
