XL-7 Patterns with XL-1 Rom ?

Hi, this is my first post on this group. Have accumulated lots of E-MU gear over the past 15 odd years, was lucky enough to live close to there EU head office up in Musselborough near Edinburgh, I now live in Wimbledon and I believe there HQ has moved to Ireland ?
I have a question for the Group......having just sold my beloved XL-7 on the Bay a couple of wk's ago which I
am now regretting, I stupidly thought that the XL-7 and the XL-1 rom ID's were equal, not so it seems.
My question.........has anyone been able to get the XL-7 Patterns to work with XL-1 rom in P2500 command station ???
