audio ticks

2002-07-15 by coscon23

hi y'all,

haven't been around here for a while... probably because i haven't
got any major problems left using my mp7 :-)

a few months ago there were some posts about ticks in audio when
using certain combinations of presets. i'm also having some of those
and was wondering if there has been some answer to where they come
from and if possible, how to work around them...

I had problems using some filters, but it was just the outputs overloading
(clipping?). Turned down the res and AMP settings, and all was well.

yeah....this has happened to me also.... very annoying when you have some
sweet sounds, and then totally have to change the pattern to remove those
pops....

I had that as well, and finally concluded that the XL-7's output was
just too hot for the A/D's on my digital desk (or maybe for the D/A's
on the XL-7 itself; certainly, the UltraProteus, Morpheus and Audity2k
were capable of overloading on output). I just tweaked some of the
gain structure and it seems fine, although I want to investigate some
more.
