Polophony remains at 128 for both the 2000 and 2500.  And yes, your right, processor is 3x faster, but I hardly consider that to be any kind of super major change.

The synth processing itself isn't faster, ie your LFO's aren't faster. The 
internal computations are faster, you're a bit confused :)

envelopes and perhaps even FM... :)

Hehe, I see what you're saying now, my bad.  While that would be cool, a 
change like that would require new OS's for all the new gear too, so I 
doubt it'll happen anytime soon.   Still, it's been awhile since we heard 
anything from the Emu guys, so who knows?  I for one just want the option 
to "replace" while recording, and not always be stuck with "Merge".

Oh yeah, and a megamix mode too!
