I thought the new processor was 3x faster, and the polyphony was doubled
in the 2500?

Where the 2500 is concerned, I hardly think that the addition of simply a
faster processor is enough to state that you've released a new synth
engine.

Polophony remains at 128 for both the 2000 and 2500. And yes, your right, processor is 3x faster, but I hardly consider that to be any kind of super major change.

The synth processing itself isn't faster, ie your LFO's aren't faster. The
internal computations are faster, you're a bit confused :)

Hehe, I see what you're saying now, my bad. While that would be cool, a
change like that would require new OS's for all the new gear too, so I
doubt it'll happen anytime soon. Still, it's been awhile since we heard
anything from the Emu guys, so who knows? I for one just want the option
to "replace" while recording, and not always be stuck with "Merge".
Oh yeah, and a megamix mode too!

*sigh* no but the capability is there to MAKE them faster. ;)
