xl-1 (whole synth or just the rom) for sale or trade

xl-1 (whole synth or just the rom) for sale or trade

2002-09-18 by Ravi Ivan Sharma

I have an XL-1 and since I also have an XL-7 I want to sell it. But
seeing as how used prices are not much more than a ROM, I wonder if
anyone has another module that they want to trade for an XL1 or
knows anyone who does. I would be willing to trade just the XL-1 ROM
for any other ROM (that would be really easy!) or even an XL7 for an
MP7 !!

Hey Ravi,
I would be happy to trade my Sounds of the ZR ROM for your XL-1 ROM.
If you're interested email me at pkirkup@...
Cheers,
Peter

RE: ROM Compatability with Proteus, Samplers and command stations

The ROMS are compatable with the Proteus 2000, 2500 and the E-4 family of
samplers as well as the command stations.
I have been swapping these and some home made ROMS back and forth
from an E-4 Ultra, p2K and MP-7 with no problems. Be careful of static
electricity of course. Touch something inside the module, preferably in the=

power supply, before you touch the ROM to unlesh any pent up electricty.

Cheers

Whoa! Yes, you can put Proteus ROMs in an E4, but the converse is NOT
true. The Orbit/Phatt ROM and the E-Synth ROM are for E4s only. At
best they will not show up in your XL-7. At worst, you may corrupt
data, damage the ROM, and probably all sorts of other bad possibilities
that I didn't think of.

Anyway, you won't really gain anything because, if I'm not mistaken,
the samples are the same, and since presets don't transfer from E4 to
XL-7 or vice-versa, you won't get anything you don't have in the other
box.

PS. I do however like your description of unleashing your pent up
static electricity...it has a nice ring to it! =)
