hey, any xl-7 headz have their xl-7 12v dc lamp go bonkers on em? i had my machine on for a couple of hours, then the whole thing started blinking crazy mad. when i removed the lighting attachment and rebooted, all was cool. however the light wont work and the machine still goes apeshit if the light is attached. bad connection w/the light? maybe get a new one or screw it completely? anyone relate?? mil gracias plasticefx

I'm using a "little light" (maybe leco?) brand gooseneck lamp. exact same thing i believe. it's an industry standard gooseneck; they come in various lengths. you can get most anywhere. they also fit just about every live console made. I had an extra one or two so I didn't have to buy the retail one.

Little lite makes some nifty ones that use an intense bulb, but the are more expensive (very bright too) They don't quite last as long, but DAYM are they bright :) HOT too... - a lot of other companies make them as well. HOSA makes their own variety, as well as about every other generic cable/accessory company (PRO-CO, etc.) doesn't matter anyways, the cheap ones are all about $19.00 and probably made in the same factory to begin with =) ----- Original Message -----

Ditto. Well, I had a hum in my headphones for little bit, but it was just
cause that circuit board was a little loose from when I painted my XL-7.

Hey Plasticefx Yes, I had exactly the same problem... when the light is attached, the XL7 goes ape and boots/reboots every 2 seconds infinitely... lights flashing and speakers popping... the whole bit. Your guess about the light is on the money. It turns out that some of these lights run a little hot when the connection between the bulb and the socket is a little less than perfect. This causes the tiny wire they fished through the flex neck to become de-soldered from the little disk contact in the bulb socket. A little shifting here and there and all of a sudden the wire contacts the shell of the lamp assembly and POW... POW....POW...POW! I managed to fix mine but there was not much wire to work with and I have no confidence in the repair... it will probably fail when I need it the most... of course. Hope this helps.
