Turning off track panning??

Turning off track panning??

2003-01-24 by mbracement <mbracement@yahoo.com>

Does anyone know how to turn off the effect that pans a preset from
side to side on a preset. My drum track (Betta Beata) is continously
panning from left to right speaker and I couldn't figure out using
the manual how to set it to stay in the center. What do I do???

Press the Mixer button below the display, then turn the scroll wheel one
'click' until it changes from VOL to PAN in the display. You can now
scroll over to the channel you want to change and set it to 64 for dead
center. Also, make sure you don't have that track going to one of the
effects like PanDelayChorus, as that would do this too.

Having said all that, I had a couple instances where a drum track was
randomly doing the same thing (panning side to side) for no apparent
reason, so it could be a bug. I wasn't able to reproduce it though, so I
can't say for sure it is.

Perhaps a patch cord is connecting the pan control to an lfo?

This was discussed (I believe it was this issue) a month or two ago. This problem has
plagued me as well, especially with the older sound ROMs that were set up for 12 knob tweakage,
not 16 as in the XX-7. So anyway, to check if this is the same problem, try tweaking knob 13 to
see if the panning speeds up and slows down. If so it's probably connected to the "Modulation
Wheel" patchcord where knob 13 IS the Mod wheel. To turn this off, you'd have to track down how
this is set up within your patch... I know, I know, tiny little screen, multiple menus, no way of
seeing the bigger picture to know why all this is happening. Sometimes I have the patience to
sort all this out, though not enough to go and "fix" all the presets that this happens on. Other
times, I just want to play the thing... know what I mean?

lfo one some times controlls panning try reducing lfo one to zero.
and if that works save the preset like that and it will stop panning.

just an idea.
