WHAT THE F@#$!!!

WHAT THE F@#$!!!

2003-03-26 by jibarosoul@aol.com

=( I BROKE MY MP-7! ONE OF MY PADS RIPPED OFF OF THE SURROUNDING RUBBER AND
CAME COMPLETELY LOOSE. I PUT IN A PART INQUIRY AT EPR ELECTRONICS WEB SITE A
COUPLE DAYS AGO. TODAY I RECEIVED A CALL BACK AND THE LADY SAID THE PART COST
$204.00!! WHAT!!! I TOLD THE LADY THAT SHE MUST HAVE MADE A MISTAKE. SHE
TELLS ME THAT SHE ORDERED THE COMPLETE PAD ASSEMBLY SO I EXPLAINED TO HER
THAT ALL I NEED IS THE RUBBER PAD STRIP. SHE SAID SHE WOULD CANCEL THE ORDER
AND LOOK INTO IT FURTHER. SURELY THIS PIECE OF RUBBER CANT BE $204.00. THAT'S
INSANE!! I KNOW WERE IN AN ECONOMIC SLUMP, BUT COMMON! NEED HELP, I CANT BEAT
ON MY KICK DRUM PAD!

You can Transpose the Keypads in the Controllers Menu, so at least for now
you can beat on the kick drum pad. :) That does suck about the price,
are you sure they can send you just the rubber part?

She said she would check it out. I think she ordered the entire keypad
assembly (including the curcuit board). Good idea about the transpose
settings, will I need to save the preset if thats the only edit I make? Also,
you took your XL-7 apart, were you able to seperate the rubber pad strip from
the rest of the part? Thanks for your help man!!

The rubber part is easily detachable from the circuit board. It was
designed that way explicitly for this purpose; to make replacement easy
and cost-effective if necessary. You should be able to purchase just a
new rubber to replace your ripped one... uh...

Seems like an obvious question, but did you try calling E-mu?
