Will the MP7 allow me to send program changes to my other gear (EA1,ER1,DX200)so that I could switch all of them at the same time just by switching the MP7? Thanks and I hope this hasn't been asked a million times already.... Dana

Yep. Program changes (as well as just about every other MIDI event) can be stored in a pattern or song and can target external gear on any (or all) of the 32 external channels. --- dwoodaman <dwoodaman@...> wrote: > Will the MP7 allow me to send program changes to my other gear __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yes of course but can it do the electribe nrpn program changes? If it is embedded into the smf file and imported will it keep it or filter it out?

Oh, I am not really worried about the nrpns. What I am actually wanting to do is use all these things live, so that I can start the MP7, which will start all the other grooveboxes, and then hit a button which will change the patterns on the Korgs and Yamaha - mot that I necessarily want to do this in the song mode, but just when I switch patterns on the MP7. This is important to me because while I can set up both Korgs to change using just one knob, I still have to hit the Yamaha at the same time, and since I am doing this one man thing, this is kind of clumsy; I should also say that I don't want to use a computer live, which is why this is attractive to me. Couple of more questions, if you don't mind: can I import standard midi files into the MP7? And am I correct in assuming that the arpeggiators will work on my external gear? thanks much, this really helps me spend my $$$$$$. --- Andre Lewis <andrel@...> wrote: > Yes of course but can it do the electribe nrpn program changes? Absolutely. Nrpns are just a series of three controllers, so yes they'll be editable fine. The only thing that you can't edit directly is sysex, though if you import an SMF with sysex (even non-Emu sysex) in it, it will keep it and play it back just fine. If you put it at tick 0, it'll even play only the first time, not every loop. -Aaron __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo! Search - Faster. Easier. This is good to know, since sysex playback (I can edit elsewhere) was one of my last remaining concerns about the XL-7...you've addressed the biggest ones with OS 2.0. Thanks Aaron.

May I ask how you place the sysex data at zero? Is this somthing you do on the MP/XL7? Or would you do this in a software program.... -Thanks Wesley D. www.evolbeats.com --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo! Search - Faster. Easier. Bingo. as far as i´ve understood it, you must use a software programm. just move the sysex data to the first possible tick. the best way is to use the list-editor / event editor in your sequencer programm. btw, i think the possibilty to play back sys-ex data is something for the faq. alexander Am Samstag, 26.04.03 um 10:13 Uhr schrieb Wesley D:

Thanks for the tip.The thing is that in Sonar Sysex data is normally not visable. I think it may just be inbedded in the sequence upon exportation. The event list, I didn't think to look there.
