rom burning from e5000

rom burning from e5000

2003-05-14 by guilt

hi all
i'm gonna receive an e5000 ultra to add to my setup
i'm thinking of getting a flash rom
but i'd like to know how it works :
can i burn a multi-sample from the e5000, that i could use as one layer in the xl7?
or i can burn only single samples, used as root keys?
what i'd like to do is burning simple waveforms over all the keyboard, such as saw or square and so on, in order to use the xl7 as a synth with no artefact caused by aliasing or anything else that would destroy the pitch

so if someone is used to do this, i'd love to have any informations on how it works
thanks.

that is correct...a multisample layer in the
sampler becomes an instrument in the XL-7.

for more details, download the .pdf from E-mu's
site on authoring sound ROMs.

In order to do this, you would need to create a set
of waves that are band-limited based on harmonics
and their root key, such that their harmonics do
not exceed NyQuist.

A lot of work, but it is something I am working on
right now for my (non E-mu) sampler...

thanks for the pdf!!!
i didn't understand the last part
this :

what do you mean as NyQuist?
taking care of the harmonics would be only for chords or also for single keys?

oh, and sorry for the off-topic.
