Guitar Center bought Musician's Friend a while back.  Still they operate as two different
stores.  Somethings that Musician's Friend advertises will never make it to the shelves of Guitar
Center.  Especially deals from manufacterers or special close outs.  It's one thing to offer a
special close out deal on a website, it's another thing to stock all the Guitar Centers with that
same deal.

     Yeah, you can usually get a better price on gear if you persist.  Bring up any other retailer
and suddenly the salesperson sees their customer walking out the door without spending money.  :)

they are the same company. The strange this is that they battle for 
prices. I let one know that i taked to the other and bingo a much
