No additional outputs ?

No additional outputs ?

2003-06-23 by buju_be

Hi,
I make songs on my mp7 but i alwyays got problems to apply external
effects. simpliest way for me should be to record each audio track
one by one, but when i do that, i got many problems to rearange all
the tracks the way they where sequenced. i though about recording
simultaneously each track with audio gear of friend of mine, but i
suddenly consider that there were only 2 subs / audio outputs.... how
u people do for nice mixing ur songs ?

If you go into the midi menu, you can turn off all of the channels you're
not trying to record on the MIDI Enable page. Only enable the track
you're trying to record, then record that part, enable the next channel,
record, etc. That way you can play back your song, but only record one
track at a time and not need to rearrange the song.

I was referring to audio actually. Yeah, you're muting the unneeded midi
tracks, but the result is that you only get one track's audio at the
outputs.

Re: [xl7] No additional outputs ?

Well, I'm assuming you're talking about Song mode right? IE, you have a
finished Song in the XX-7 you want to transfer 1 track at a time into
Sonar? Here's how I did it for my contest songs awhile back:

- On the XX-7, go to the Midi Menu and make sure the Clock is set to 0 BPM
(ext), External Song Strat/Stop is On.
- Then, on the Midi enable page, disable all channels except 01A, and turn
up the volume for that Track.
- In Sonar, make sure sure that it's set to transmit MIDI clock to the
XX-7. Arm an audio track, check your levels, and press Record.
- Hopefully, if things are going ok you should now be recording only the
first track in your Song, all other should be quiet. (BTW, this entire
method assumes that you only use 1 midi channel per Track).
- Once you get to the end of the Song, rewind to the beginning of your
Sonar project, and arm another audio track in Sonar.
- On the XX-7, disable channel 01A,and enable 02A. Repeat the above steps
until you get all of your tracks into Sonar.
