"Go Home Hoser" & the Revision G manual.

2003-07-11 by erik_magrini@Baxter.com

If anyone hasn't taken a look at the new manuals posted in the files
section of this group, both the XL-7 and MP-7 'revision G' manuals are now
available for download courtesy of Iguanamini. You can access the files
here:

Thanks a lot to Emu for making the new manaul revisions MUCH, MUCH more
organized and not nearly as redundant. Thanks to everything being laidout
in reference to the various manus and functions, it's a lot easier to find
the info you're after. Not to mention all the new features from OS2.0 are
now integrated as well, so you don't have to flip back and forth between
the manual and addendum.

Question to Emu, when will this new manual be available to purchase?

Re: [xl7] Why do my XL-7 pads play intermittently?

2003-07-11 by erik_magrini@Baxter.com

Very strange, there's no setting that could be causing this. Is this a new
unit?

The pads don't play every time I hit them, even when the velocity of the
hit
is the same. Is there a setting that I have inadvertently changed that has
produced this pattern? The pads will sound for a few hits then go silent
for
a couple of hits, sound then silent... and vice versa - sometimes the pads
won't sound for the first couple of hits and then sound for a few hits...
any help would be apprecited.

Well actually - when I first start the XL-7 and press the pads they all
sound consistently as expected. It's when I get deeper into it and start
experimenting (I couldn't tell you exactly what steps got me to intermittent
sounding pads) that the 'problem' occurs. So I think it's a healthy XL-7 but
to answer your question; I recently got it from Musician's Friend scratch
and dent department - which makes me skeptical - but it shows not even a
blemish and looks perfectly new with the plastic cover still on the liquid
crystal display.

Well if you're editing Presets and trying out weird things, then I could
see this happening. Setting a patchcord to KeyRand1-> VelAmp could cause
this, so could a lot of other things. Helps to know what you're doing in
that case, and make backups of your presets.
