Song Position pointer/ Key tracking

Song Position pointer/ Key tracking

2003-07-18 by pocketd@gmx.de

Hello,

been offline for a longer time, I found out that the XL-7 just transmitts
the song pointer, that means he
can´t be stabile as slave.

So I use it as the master, but the main problem is making audiorecord in
Logic, Logic can´t get the first
beat, so I have to use Logic as master to record a pattern from beginning.

Well, audio-sync is such a complex theme, how do U do it if you record? Nice
would be a count in at the
XL-7.

Got the Korg Electribe R this week, well I love it and for drum editing it´s
more easier to program pattern
switches, it´s getting huge here at home, and I think it´s getting a more
and more individual sound.

Ever tried the 6-Bandpass with high resonance, that´s the way to get a real
"selfoscillation", well here
begins real electronic music for me.

Next I´want to get a Rom-card with orchestral things, such as tuba, violins
and a great piano, any ideas
which one is right?

Last but not least is there a general way to set up Keytracking?
I use Key+- and playing mid-c then I´m contoling other octaves and trying to
get it to the same level,
someting like Key+- -> 30 I found out works good.
But there´s someting I don´t understand, without Key tracking high notes
semms to be to dark, deep
notes sound too dark, right?
Thanx,
Christoph

Not true; the XL-7 will lock to song pointer as well.

>>>The ER-1 is an awesome synth, I think it' definitely one that will be a
classic in the future. Try using it orr non-drums sounds too, you can use
the delay with really short time values to get some crazy sounds. The
Ring Mod function is sweet too, when used with external sounds. <<<

>>>Maybe the Orchestral ROM? :) <<<

It recieves SPP. You need to be synced to MIDI clock. The "x" is
incorrect. It's handy if you have more than one XL-7, as you can drive
from one and the other will follow.
