I tried to start with only one voice card connected, but was given an error message, and no sound comes out.

Each voice board had his own id. This id is set with a strap. So when you swap the board, you didn't swap anything since each board kept his previous ID.Dang! That means that there is something wrong with the voice card.OK, thanks, closer to the problem now.__
