Xpantastic!

Speaking of artists using the XPander & M12, perhaps we shhould
compile a list of Artists/Albums/Tracks that we know *for sure* use
them
(no speculation, please). I guess a plain old text file will do.

Alan Holdsworth made an album in the 80's called Atavachron, where he
used a Synthaxe (a $12,000 Guitar shaped pitch to midi controller) to
drive 1 or more XPanders. There is an article in an old issue of
Guitar player magazine describing the details. The early pitch to midi
controllers of the had horrible tracking error, resulting in the
artists having to modify their playing technique to get the sounds
they wanted.
This particular album makes my skin crawl because of the genre of
music- fusion, I can't stand it. (Sorry to fusion enthusiasts)

If you google for Synthaxe, I'm sure you'll eventually see a picture
of it, and references to Atavachron (There is an cartoon-like image of
it on the cover of this cd)
