The sysex header for sending a patch to the xpander contains one byte which indicates the patch number. However, There is an independant edit buffer which allows you to edit a patch remotely (and locally to, I think) without affecting any of the patches already stored in locations 1-100 This edit buffer allows you to tweak patches, and compare the edit to the original, when you are inMulti Mode Oberheim thought of everything and they sure had some great software engineers who could squeeze out ever bit of capability out of a 1.89Mhz 6809!
