While I was impressed with the the drum sounds and editing
capability of the XD-5, I also saw the capability to create
synth sounds. The analog filters and envelopes along with the
correct waveforms can create very stricking and wonderful textures.

Contained within this Standard sysEx file are 32 synth sounds for
use with your sequencer or playing pleasure. They are the B and C banks.
I have kept drum sounds in the other banks. You can use a standard syEx dumper
which is available for any platform. The application I used is called
MIDIAN which is for the Atari Platform. ( available on my site)

To acess them, use SINGLE mode and select the appropriate bank.then go
to SYSTEM / RCV and select your recieving MIDI channel.

I have not programmed a KIT for these sounds yet, but it is possable
to create a multi layed Kit with synth sounds and drums as well.
 (my next project)

My intention is to turn your XD-5 into a very nice synth with some very
stricking and original sounds, as well as to use for templates in creating
your own sounds. Simply pick a synth sound, and hit EDIT on the front
panel, and select another parameter such as the filter, and envelope settings.

 Any comments are welcome
