The Administrators of the Logic Users Group, EXS Users Group and Redmatica (http://www.redmatica.com) are pleased to bring you our final group buy for 2007!  We had many requests for group buys for Keymap 1.5 and Keymap One 1.5, but Redmatica has been gracious enough to include ALL products in the group buy!   That includes upgrades from one product to another, such as upgrading Keymap One to Keymap, or upgrading from one product to a full bundle.

Redmatica has been a long-time supporter and friend to the Logic User and EXS Groups, having a well-established history of developing innovating software that integrates seamlessly with Logic Pro and the Macintosh platform as a whole.  Redmatica has taken that integration to the next level with the Keymap software and Logic Pro 8, which can be accessed directly from within Logic itself.  We really can't say enough good things about Redmatica; very simply, if you ever use sampling, you need to have at least some of Redmatica's offerings.

KEYMAP

The built-in EXS24 editor is fine as long as you just want to quickly adjust a parameter or two, but for serious sampler instrument creation and sample editing, KEYMAP is the most complete and intuitive sample editor available, bar none.   The fact that it integrates seamlessly with Logic Pro 8 extends the feature set of both Keymap and Logic Pro 8 itself to make this a nearly mandatory combination for anyone serious about sample editing and sampler instrument construction.   It's got more extremely powerful unique features than there is room to mention here: batch instrument creator, harmonic resynthesis, surround and spacialization features, advanced tuning/pitch functions, best in class automatic looping/slicing/transient detection, and more.  Keymap not only helps you put together the best sampler instruments you can, but they will come together faster, more accurately, and sound better.

As mentioned above, not only does Keymap integrate with Logic Pro 8 and the EXS24, but you can also extremely easily convert your Keymap instruments to run on your sampler of choice, be it Kontakt, MachFive, etc.  It directly supports audio in WAV, AIFF, mp3, and AAC format.  Keymap offers an amazing plethora of audio and MIDI routing options to effortlessly integrate into any existing workflow.   Really, you owe it to yourself to check out the website for the full details of what Keymap can do for you.  It's not simply software in its class, it's the ONLY software in its class.

KEYMAP ONE

Keymap One is the baby brother to Keymap.  It's not "crippleware" in any sense; its a fully-featured, completely professional version of Keymap, complete with all of its Logic Pro 8 integration and advanced editing and looping features.  It does lack some of the high end functionality such as the Surround mixer, batch processor, tuning and pitch correction, and some others.  However, if you own Keymap One and decide you need those features, there is an upgrade path to Keymap.

EXS MANAGER

If you use EXS Sampler Instruments or GarageBand instruments then you need to own EXS Manager.  Really, it's that simple.  This program lets you re-link missing samples to instruments, detect duplicate and unused samples, consolidate samples for improved performance, manage and optimize Sampler Instruments on your  hard drive, and otherwise manage all your EXS24 and GarageBand instruments.  It offers comprehensive and clear visualization and reporting of your instruments and samples, search modes, and so on.  See the website for complete information.

AUTOSAMPLER

So you love your hardware synthesizers, but you hardly ever use them because software instruments are so much more convenient.  Still...you miss those couple of patches you just can't duplicate in software.  Or perhaps you use a metric ton of hardware instruments in the studio and want to take your show on the road, but you don't want to bring a truckload of synthesizers with you.  Maybe you already do use software instruments, but some of your favorites have been discontinued, and as you move to new hardware, operating systems, and versions of Logic, you hate to loose them.  Good news for all of the above—Autosampler to the rescue!

Simply put, Autosampler automatically samples your hardware or software instrument and makes an EXS24 instrument from it.  You set up parameters such as how many notes to play and sample, how many velocity layers, various advanced swiches or fades between various synth parameters to make, and so on, and then Autosampler does it.  You can even have it automatically switch patches for you if you want to sample one or more banks.  It can import patch names from text files, process samples, even sample MIDIfied acoustic pianos and other more complex sampling environments.  Check the website for more information.

The success of the group buy is of course dependent on the number of subscribers. While it is not possible to guarantee that the 40% price point can be reached, as many reading this will know, just about all of our LUG group buys have done very well and most did in fact reach the maximum discount offered by the developer.

Please also note, the Group Buy will be calculated in US Dollars. Bearing in mind the current exchange rate, this is excellent news for EU subscribers. Please note, if you have an EU address, you will be charged V.A.T. at the  rate applicable in your country. If however, you have a V.A.T. registration number you can use it to avoid paying V.A.T.

From here, you can proceed to sign up for any of the products you wish to buy. When subscribing, you will be sent a confirmation Email. Each subscriber will then receive a weblink to his own Redmatica Group Buy web page in the confirmation email. At that webpage, the subscriber finds a description of what he subscribed for, and when he signed up. Once the group buy shop opens, a button in those web pages will become active and allow each subscriber to pay directly for the preordered software. The main Redmatica Group Buy website also provides up-to-date information about the progress of the group buy, and allows you to see which price points have been achieved at any given time. Please note that you may only sign up once for each product - after this, your mail address will be registered, and no longer accepted should you attempt to sign up again. This is to avoid any possible duplications or multiple sign ups. Once the group buy is over, payment information will be sent on to each member. All Products will be available as downloads only. Once payment has been received by Redmatica, you will receive instructions allowing you to download the products you bought.

Each Redmatica license, while still being a single user license, allows installation on up to 3 Macs at once. The authorization process for all Redmatica products consists of two simple steps: first you will have to run an authorizer tool on the Mac(s) where you will install the software. The tool will give you a unique Computer ID string that you will have to mail to Redmatica, and the software will be sent back ad a download link by email within a few minutes. This system allows you to change hard disks, install new OS releases, with no need to reauthorize the software.

DURATION OF THE GROUP BUY:

The group buy will start at 0:01 a.m., Wednesday Dec 5, Central European time, and run until Midnight, December 19  Pacific Coast Time.

IMPORTANT!

Only one licence of each product will be allowed per subscriber - in other words, you are welcome to subscribe for one each EXS Manager, Keymap, but you may not subscribe for two AutoSampler licences. Also, the upgrades can be purchased only if you already have the product you want to upgrade from. When purchasing upgrades, you should register using the same email address as shown in the about box of your installed Redmatica product.

While unsubscribing is possible during the course of the group buy, once it is over, all subscriptions will be considered as binding commitments to purchase. We have never had to ask for pre-payment for any LUG group buy, so far the vast majority of subscribers have been very honest about honoring their commitments. We sincerely hope that this will remain the case, and would ask everyone considering subscribing only to do so if they are serious about participating. Anyone who remains signed up but does not in the end proceed with a purchase may at the discretion of the LUG Administrators be excluded from future LUG Group buys. Payments must be received no later than midnight, Jan 5 2008 Pacific time.
