What I have learned : 1/ 4.7 is Out on the 03/27/2001 2/ Create a MAPPED Instrument (EXS) by Per Boysen : 1. Open the audio environment. 2. From the menu "new" create a "channel splitter". Tick the box to make it appear in the instrument list of the arrange window. 3. Create as many EXS instruments that you need for separate drum sounds (="outputs"). 4. Cable from the the "channel splitter" outputs (got 16, one for each midi channel) from each channel to one of the EXS objects. 5. Go to the arrange window. 6. Create a new "channel splitter track" (now to be found in the track list) 7. Now create a part on that "channel splitter track". Open that part in the hyper editor and choose "GM set" (left info window showing parameters for the editor). Now you should see all GM drum names on the GM note numbers to the left. For each drum sound there is, among other things, a midi channel. For each drum sound change the midi channel to the same midi channel of the EXS object you want to direct that sound (= midi note number) to. Done! Last step is to set up all the EXS instances with the same drum kit and different fx, levels, pan etc. *************************************************************** How To assign and record a chord to one note do this ( by enrique martinez): 1. Go to the Environment. 2. Under New, select the following items: Physical Input, Chord Memorizer and Sequencer Input. 3. From the Sum of the Physical Input, cable the Physical Input to the Chord Memorizer. 4. Then cable the Chord Memorizer to the Sequencer Input. 5. Double click the Chord Memorizer icon. Now, The Chord Memorizer window should appear. 6. In this window, select C3 on the upper keyboard. 7. Check the listen box. 8. Play a chord on your real keyboard. 9. Click on OK 10. Close the Environment. 11. Press Rec and play C3 on your keyboard. DONE but Sascha SAID : That might eventually not be the most clever way... Most likely you will allready have a "Click & Ports" layer in your environment. There might allready be some objects on it which will have no further connection to the physical input as soon as you create a new one *somewhere* since you can have only one physical input in all your layers. So, my first recommendation would be to insert that chord memorizer right on the allready existing "Click & Ports" layer. The second thing I would do is to insert a cable switcher in front of it. That way you could simply switch your chord memorizer on/off. I have a bunch of them in my "Click & Ports" layer, preceeded by a cable switcher which works in text style with the "behave as menu" option checked. There I entered appropriate names for each chord memorizer which will be activated (as for instance "159" for a chord memorizer generating root, fifth and ninth). **************************************************************** from ALEX : I am a LAMP user so the LAW users may need to experiment. To copy screen sets hold SHIFT when switching screen sets. *************************************************************** from Murray : If you are on the environment audio page you can use the Ctrl-Click to turn plugins on or off -- just press the Control key and click on the plugin in the insert slot or even an audio instrument. Same with sends -- want to hear it without reverb -- Control click the bus send -- click again to sends or inserts back on. Control click on the send amount dial automatically sets it to 0.0 dB Control-click the solo button when you have multiple channels soloed and all soloed channels are switched out of solo mode. Click again and only the channel you click goes into solo. If you Alt click a channel's solo button, a small cross appears over the solo button and that channel will continue to play when you solo other channels. Alt click it again to undo the effect. ************************************************************ from sascha : And here's another one, while we are at clicking (maybe that's just too obvious, but I found out about it last week, never noticed that before): While being in the environment, clicking on an object with the "MIDI out" tool will assign that object to the currently selected track. **************************************************************** I am a LAMP user so the LAW users may need to experiment. Holding down OPT while using the scissors tool will cut sequence into equal segments More to come... ...Alex Allias ************************************************************************ How to Sync Logic & ProtOOls by Teddy Kumpel : In OMS: double click on the IAC driver in the OMS setup in the first box type "MTC to Logic" in the second box type "aaAMMC for Pro Tools" click OK and save your OMS setup/quit In Pro Tools: *turn off Midi Thru *go to Midi Input devices and uncheck everything except the aaAMMC for Pro Tools box (you can change this later if you need to use PT for midi again) *In Setups/peripherals/Synchronisation select Generic MTC reader for the device, aaAMMC for Pro Tools as the port and check "Enable Control of Pro Tools via MMC", ID should stay at 127 *In the session setup window: check "MTC to Port" and use the pull down to set MTC to logic set the SMPTE frame rate to whatever you like as long as it's the same in both programs. In logic: you must use OMS *it should automatically create 2 IAC drivers (with your new names) for OMS, but if it didn't you can create them manually. they should both be on Midi ch 16 *In options/settings/synchronization/ I have: general auto enable NO external stop ends... YES Auto detect... YES validate? yes smtpe pos and frame rate has to be the same as PT MIDI transmit MMC to aaAMMC for PT everything else unchecked. i had trouble with the midi clock out and my MTP/AV so I leave it off and set tempos in my synths rather than trying to clock them. also, you have to put logic in external sync more (ie click the little clock in the transport) make sure no audio drivers are checked and that should be it ******************************************************* yael@noos.fr writes: >In the Bars settings there is 4/4 ok but at the measure >80 i want 2/4 !!
