   Thanks to everyone for their responses (keep them coming!).
   Admittedly, I tried to keep it short to get the most responses. I
   was mostly looking for %/midi support and an idea of how many
   people build with the intent of using their creations live.

No, please don't keep them coming.  That's not what this list is for. 

Besides, it's much better to actually ask a question and invite
discussion than to make up some meaning out of survey results.

   Would it be okay if we worked out a more thorough survey? 

If you really want to have a survey, please, please ask folks to
respond to you alone and not flood the list.  And add a "reply-to:"
field that will automatically direct the replies in the right
direction.  That's what it's there for.
