Outputs are almost always at full level.

I always have level controls on inputs. I may have several level controls on
each input, a mixer; a mixer for signals and a mixer for control voltage.

For example one envelope generator (or any other control voltage source) may
be connected to a VCF and VCA at the same time but you want different effect
on each.

For example you may want to modulate your VCF from a sequencer, an EG, and a
LFO at the same time.

Other issues: Zout should be low. Zin should be high.
