<< Hey... any of you guys building any synths lately ??? >>

well sort of... I am getting pretty close to finishing an enclosure for my
yet to be completed SBM.

It's an Oak box with an aluminum front panel 19" x 12" the panel is slanted,
the base is about 8 inches wide, and the top will end up about 4 inches wide.
I wanted something like an ARP 2600 case, although I was working from my own
idea of it from pictures since I have never seen one in person.

I'm no carpenter, so it's not really hermetically sealed, but hey! I built it
myself! and that's what this is about eh?

I put the back panel on hinges so the back and attached top piece swing down
to allow fixing/calibration/modification access to the front panel and
circuitboards, which I think I will attach to the back wood panel.

once all is electronically sound, I will probably stain it some reddish wood
stain, and maybe varnish? I don't know yet.

I recently got a scanner so once I get some pictures and know how to use it
I'll see if I can find somewhere to put them.

considering I built it with a hacksaw, a drill and a pocketknife, I'm pretty
pleased.

I have a new friend who is a carpenter by trade, so my next efforts will have
the benefits of good tools and perhaos expert guidance.

this weekend I'll start on the first installment of drilling the front panel
holes. ( right now I have all the pots and jacks in a piece of cardboard)

then I can gt back to trying to troubleshoot my VCOs, which will basically be
taking scope measurements of all the IC pins and hoping some kind soul might
see something obvious to the trained eye.

that will be later on tho, one step at a time.....
