[sdiy] breadboard (almost like a custom PCB)

I found "proto board for uC applications" a very handy strip board variation
for analog stuff.
The board is intended for 8052 type uC applications, but IMHO it works much
better for analog then for uC stuff.
In fact I would not even consider these boards for uC applications.
These protoboards are like half way between stripboard and a custom PCB.
There is room to fit twelve 16 pin dil ICs and plenty of other stuff
surrounding them.
I just did a euro card sized board with two 24dB VCFs, two envelopes and two
wavefolders.
In total eleven ICs, four trannies and about 200 caps, diodes, resistors.
Yes, its full, but not crammed, you simply can fit more on these :)
One of the best parts, I had only to make 9 cuts in the strips for the whole
thing.
The copper pattern looks like this: (fixed front)

Four horizontal strips on top and bottom and in between a pattern of islands
of four holes and two and three vertical strips.
The ICs sit over the "double" vertical strips, which become the + and -
power lines.
I use the center strip of the "triple" strips for the GND.
Using 3 of the horizontal stripes as power bus, the complete power structure
is almost ready in place.
Leaving plenty of strips for long distant signal connections.
For my these proto boards work really well, so maybe it will work for others
too ;)
Conrad carries it under nr: 52 78 23, but others should have this too.
Just my two cnts,
Theo
