[sdiy] multi-turn pot question...

I'm working on a little keyboard project, and was wondering what kind 
of solution to use for a multi-turn pot... the place i'm hoping use 
it in has an empty hole about 3/8" high and 1/4" diameter between the 
knob area and the innards (~.5" high x 1"^2)... i would like to use 
the multi-turn for some better resolution, and would like it at <$2 
($3 has to be my limit) each in quantities of 10, but if you have a 
better way of getting that done that would be nice as well...
