Well, I'm far from a "master"...
If the protection diode scheme is the same as the 4007
(the 4007 data sheet I have shows it), then that 3 volts
will turn on a protection diode. That's not a good thing,
so it might be best to buffer that so the drive comes from
the same + supply as the 4053. That way the gate can
never be more positive than the 4053's Vdd pin.
