HAFO rings a nice little bell.... Asea Hafo (ABB Hafo due to the Asea
and Brown-Boveri merger), a Swedish semiconductor manufacturer (now
bought by MITEL from the ABB). They did a lot of fiber optic
components, so if your dome is transparent, you've probably got
yourself a laser-diode (with a sense PIN-diode). I don't have any
datasheets or anything.
Asea Hafo had among other things a 2um CMOS SOS process where they did
stuff for the space industry among other things.
I think I recall that Hafo stood for Halvledar Forskning (Swedish for
Semiconductor Research).
I am sure others can fill in...
