I think you should look more to the general use of low and high pass filters.
Lowpass dominates. When they cooked up the Mini for instance, they selected
the modules they thought would best represent what people wanted to do most of
the time (also, it was supposed to be pretty cheap, otherwise you've got
yourself a big modular anyway).
So, it's more like a two-egg twin situation, they boy gots all the attention
and the girl gets forgotten...
I haven't heard the HP in action and if someone has a Moog modular in my
neighborhood I'd naturally enjoy a first-hand experience from it. Hell, I'd
like a close encounter with the rest of a Moog modular too!
It is however interesting to note that the highpass is a very different
topology, done in an attempt to use the same property (the exponential
transconductance dynamic of transistors) but in a HP solution. there are other
ways to derive the HP properties too.
