Hi Batz,
Well, I'll be pickled. I'd run across this schematic on the Electric
Kitchen some time back when I was noodling around with the 2399. I thought
it would be a great thing to try, especially with the 'minimum delay' thing
I had run into with the PT2399 and saved it in my 'things to do' directory.
Normally, when I run across a cool design, I do a quick check of the parts
required to breadboard it and compare it to my growing inventory of parts.
If I don't have all of the parts on hand, I put it in my "things to do"
directory and try to remember to snag the parts on my next parts binge.
It's not a very good system, as my "things to do" directory starts to get
pretty big and I get off onto other tangents, and I forget all of the cool
stuff I run across until someone reminds me about it (as you've just done).
It's not my fault. If everyone on this list would concentrate on not being
so creative, I wouldn't have this problem.
This is a very cool circuit.
When I get the parts together, I sure will try it, and I'll let you know my
results. Right now, my real life is calling again and I have to prepare for
another business trip and my DIY time will be cut off for about three weeks
(grrrrr.....).
BTW, Rene Schmitz has done some very interesting digital delay stuff, but
his implementation requires use of a microprocessor, which is fine, but I
don't have any of those on hand, and it would require a track down a
different learning curve plus the gutting of my vintage 286 =). These
curves are starting to make me seasick.
