[sdiy] where to start?

i rally whant to make myself a synth but dont know where to start. what kind of equiptment do i need? some basics on what i need of parts and stuff. 

I whant to make some thing cheep the first time. nothing advansed ore anything, just a working synth. can some of you please halp me with the info i need?
