Hi Christian:
Do you have any experience building anything electronic, and
do you have any electronic tools (soldering iron, meter,
oscilloscope <maybe>....).
Do you know haw to operate a meter, scope, etc...?
The simplest solution would be to build a KIT for the first time...
maybe someting like a PAiA "Fatman" synth. Its a complete synth...
maybe not the ultimate machine...
...but it includes the MIDI interface you need to use another synth
as a keyboard. Almost NO kits today have their own keyboard...
comes with step-by-step instructions and all parts.
There are many mods you can do to upgrade it later. That's about the cheapest, easiest way to start.
