Not that particular model... but in general they rely on two disks rotating

(or one with a switch) with a gear ratio of xxx/yyy  like 186 to 192
(if anyone NEEDS to know the ratio I'll look for an hour and find it)
anyway, its a close approximation of the 12th root of 2.

Then your instrument is squared up, and flashes a neon bulb that
illuminates
the disk. ONE of the scales on the disk is your note, and you tune to
freeze that marking.
