[sdiy] Knobs, take two

Turns out that the knobs Maplin sells are not quite what I'm
looking for, as I find the two big ridges annoying. knobs.com.tw
makes the same without the ridges. The references I'm considering
are :
http://www.knobs.com.tw/tuning2-main.htm
http://www.teaser.fr/~amajorel/misc/41007.jpg
41007-1 - diameter 14.7 mm excluding the skirt
41007-5 - diameter 24.3 mm excluding the skirt
(both have a 6.35 mm brass shaft with a set screw).
For 41007-1, they quoted me 0.285 USD in quantity of 1,000 (or
0.265 USD in quantity of 2,000). They have 1,000 of them available
at the moment but the normal minimum order (to start a batch ?) is
2,000.
For 41007-5, I imagine perhaps 1.5 times the above.
Assuming I could get the price down to what Maplin offers or less
(i.e. 0.363 UKP excluding VAT and shipping), would anybody else
be interested in that kind of knobs ? Which ones and how many ?
Unfortunately, I can only guess at the final price, as you have to
add the cost of shipping from Taiwan to France, plus import taxes,
plus the cost of shipping from my place to yours. I'm afraid that
it might take a fairly large order to compete with Maplin.
