[sdiy] Holy price tags, speculation?

i only know (in real life) one person who has a vcs3, and they were given
it, not so many years ago, by the head of their music department.  I presume
it was a case of it sitting in a cupboard, and noone ever touching it.

i like the fact that they probably never look on ebay, and have only heard,
via word of mouth, how much its probably worth.  thats not to say they dont
know its market value, but have no interest in it, as they have no interest
in selling it.  i kinda like it when these things are instruments, and not
commodities, if you see what i mean.  unrealistic, and idealistic, but a
nice idea all the same
