(yes Ken... you the man !)
The 741 is a much maligned opamp. It does have several very good points...
it does not have a very fast slew rate (so it will not OSCILLATE like a TL07x
series does into a capacitive load - ask me cause it burned me again,
professionally...
just today :^). It is very rugged and short circuit protected. It will NOT
phase
reverse so you can safely clip it just by overdriving the input.
Sometimes these are exactly the characteristics you want
