I'm not sure what jitter means in this context. Clock jitter of the 
audio DAC in a CD player? This cannot be caused by mechanical problems 
of the CD drive, since every CD player has a data buffer. Any clock 
jitter here is the jitter of an electronic (quartz) oscillator.
