There's an interview with Steven St. Croix, the inventor of the thing, in
Device magazine (Device 1-3 and Device 1-10, specifically).  In it he quotes
the dynamic range of the CCD devices as 95 dB, with a 72:1 sweep range.  At
the time, he mentioned a newer CCD that had up 1 second delay at 95 dB
dynamic range.  Pretty fascinating interview.
