How about a 288e???  Now that would really turn my crank!!! Quad A B C D channels, Lcd display with 8 rotary encoders and 8 push buttons below to mix the tap outputs and set polarity. An ABCD pushbutton to select which channel to edit. Two horizontal sliders to adjust start and end points with VC modulation inputs a la Akai 612. FM inputs for every channel, Scaled input to do Karplus Strong stuff and finally feed insert points for every channel. Infinite feedback to do Frippertronic style SOS. Since it's digital, lots of ram for long delays. I would take 2 right away.
