for the sake of historic accuracy this is *NOT* Thunder II
Thunder II is/was a hand drum controller designed by Buchla for EMU back in the 90's .. it was never completed or produced.
This new controller is a 200e specific module and doesn't have internal power or MIDI, it is a CV/Pulse interface for the 200e modular system.

Peter Grenader <peter@buzzclick-music.com> wrote: Yeah - its f'n outrageous. Now idea of price yet - says Don. But it have
both pressure and vertical position sensitivity like the Continuim
controller. The keys are laid out in the "Klingon battleship" format like
the first Thunder, yet it's a 200e module - it mounts into a boat and not a
stand alone like T 1.
It's a capacitance keyboard like all the others. White keys with laminate
over them, not metal keys. Over them, which makes the key outline is a
final laminated layer which is silver colored and pretty much matched the
metal of the other faceplates. Sounds hokey? It's not. It's very clean,
very sexy, looks great in the unit, is very easy to work with.
I can't go into all that much detail right now - I've got to get to Namm
myself, but along with the controller panel, there's a separate controller
module with it with many many outputs - the keys and the X/Y pads and
there's about an inch square cutout on this external module which exposes a
sensor to use Lightning type rings (different types - different sensing
capabilities, all worn on your finger like your wedding ring - as explained
by Yazi) that behave like the Lighning wands.
There's other comments I could make, but they are speculative - I haven't
asked the right questions so I'll wait until I do that to make any more
assertions about the system - and I'll post again.
The thing is amazing.
