If you wrote the descriptions, then those descriptions are your
copyrighted work. If you are including images of Buchla modules and
properly attribute ownership of the images, then your use would qualify
as fair because reference works typically (but not always) qualify fair
use.
But I agree, you should just write B&A and get permission. It is the
cool thing to do.
