extra outs on 292e

Hi all

what are the extra audio outs A,B,C,D on the 292e for? Quadraphonic?

I don't think they're for any one thing in particular but four things
heard is quad phonic! ;-]

It's just individual outputs vs mono summed output. Like how a
mixing desk often has individual outs as well as summed (though they
call it master bus for good reasons). A common practice is chaining
channels to get dynamics and a filter with separate modulation
control for each.

I'm not sure what exactly you mean by extra. The module contains 4
Lowpass Gates so it would limit flexibility if they were just simply
summed.

As for the second (extra?) audio out per LP Gate, I'd suspect there
was room and as mentioned you might want to send an output back
someplace besides your mixer.

As for quad, in my opinion it's neither here nor there on the 292e.
Having four LP Gates certainly doesn't hinder working in quad at all
but as a module it's not supplying any quad specific functions as say
the 227e offers.
