It was originally a one-off custom module made for Ezra Buchla a  
couple years ago specifically for a performance. It seems pretty clear  
that a few people expressed interest in buying one themselves so now  
it's being offered. As you might know there's been a tradition of  
radio as a random element in electronic music performance since the  
very early days.

I read somewhere that Don made a voltage controlled radio for David
Tudor in the 1960's, it has long been a popular sound source in the
field of experimental music. See also Stockhausens music from the late
1960's, Hymnen, Kurzwellen, Spiral etc.

I beg B&A to think about AM also with MW and LW bands...
after all it would be super easy to use a banana cable as an antenna loop...

I love the idea, particularly for touring live performances. It ensures 
not only unpredictable results, but also local flavor in each city!
