[200e] grounding issues?

[200e] grounding issues?

2011-08-17 by zweitesystem

Bonjour everybody,

I recently noticed the following, I don't know if it was like this before and I wanted to ask if someone here has experienced the same, and if I should worry or if that's normal behaviour...

- when an audio cable is plugged in an input, e.g., into the 291e, and the other plug (the tip) touches an edge of an output jack, the signal is interrupted;

- when a banana cable coming out of the 266e quantized output touches a screw holding a module, the output LED lights up.

Isn't that odd?
Thanks for your attention and kind regards from Geneva,
Gianluca

It happened to me. That's normal, I guess that ground is on case.

Ciao Giorgio,
thanks for the reply.

So both things happened to you, au.sig cut + CV weirdness?

I wonder *how* the ground passes through the case, if that's
desirable and, if not, how to fix it...

Cheers,
G

hi,

the quiet ground runs through all the aluminum front panels with audio jacks (and possibly neighboring modules depending on how closely the panels fit). this isn't a bug or malfunction as far as i know.

thanks,

Thank you everybody for the answer so far.
So I shouldn't worry about this...

Kind regards,
Gianluca
