250e question

250e question

2008-04-08 by buchlajoe

Hi. Perhaps someone can explain something for me.
When editing the quantize function on my 250e , i choose
between l.e.d. off (no quant) and l.e.d. green (quant on). Then i
leave edit mode , and when the sequencer is running i get a
red l.e.d. on some steps. what is the meaning of the red led?
thank you.

I _think_ it means that the knob setting does not entirely match the
quantized value. Green means it matches.

I always thought that the colors referenced port (red, left) and starboard (green, right).

I thought that off meant that the knob and value matched, and that the color indicated
whether you were to the port or starboard side of the programmed value.

Note that I don't have a 250e, so I'm guessing based on red/green LED behavior on some
other modules.

That is correct.

Joe,

The red lights indicate that you're close to the edge of a quantized value. Stay green to avoid uncertainty.
